Overview:
HVAC, Plumbing, water supply, Fire Fighting Works, Material Submittals and prepare Shop Drawings for electro-mechanical executions, coordination drawings.
Coordination between all Contractors for any other discipline.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To supervise and manage all mechanical Design Engineering functions in the workplace and manage a team Draftsman for day to day mechanical design shop drawings Engineering functions.
Analyze technical specifications, tender documents and proposals, and develop detailed design and construction packages.
Produces shop drawing and specifications for the installation of mechanical systems. Analyzes building use.
Prepares or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and shop drawings for projects. Inspects construction activities to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
Develop mechanical connection and interconnection drawings to support manufacturing of electro-mechanical items.
Develop mechanical panel building outline and fabrication drawings.
Specify parts for custom-made enclosures and electro-mechanical equipment, and develop ordering drawings.
Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanical components and systems.
Recommend design modifications to eliminate mechanical components and systems malfunctions.
Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical design Engineering.
Knowledge of modern methods, materials, techniques, and design concepts as applied to the design and construction.
Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA).
Knowledge in design and calculations which includes HVAC, FIRE FIGHTING, WATER SUPPLY-DRAINAGE, BMS, PLUMBING..Etc, Quantity, Takeoffs etc.
Knowledge of AutoCAD (R14, 2000,2002,2004,2006 & 2007), Primavera etc.
Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.
Ability to prepare, interprets, and utilizes mechanical Design Engineering plans, maps, specifications, and reports.
Ability to analyze technical specifications and proposals, and develop detailed design and construction packages.
Ability to perform algebraic and trigonometric computations applied to mechanical Engineering and design operations for working drawings.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, consultants, subcontractors etc.

Education and Experience:
Diploma in draftsman or a related field
A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a related field.
